FIVE CENTS WORTH

Tuesday, June 27, 2006

People come and go in all our lives, even the closest people around us like our family members, will leave us one day. Often, because of our busy schedule, we neglect our elders who are taking care of us, every single day, and taking them for granted.
They have much to say, many interesting adventures from their youth to tell us, but yet, we were never there to listen.
Perhaps, sometimes, in the rush of everything, we should, take a step back and stop for awhile, and just look around us, to see who unconditionally loved us, caring for us, all the time.

Sometimes, a gesture of appreciation or love, can mean nothing much to you, but it may mean the world to your loved ones.

Treasure what you have, before it’s all too late. You would not want to carry an eternal regret with you throughout your life journey, would you?

ENGLAND VS EUCADOUR
1 - 0

hmmz.
Despite England players being said as unfit and not up to their usual standard, they still managed to get a victory over Eucadour.

It's saddening that both Asian countries are no longer in the run for the prestigous World Cup.

22 men, 2 coaches, 1 ball, 1 World Cup
Every 4 years.

Or should I say the whole world is chasing after the Cup too?
With sleepless nights of watching the live telecast of the matches?

happiness?

jus suddenly wondered.
why are we so far from happiness.

why is it that poor ppl tell themselves: i'll be happy, when im rich. becos then i wun have to worry about money.
why is it that rich ppl tell themselves: i'll be happy when i dun have so much money, cos then i wun have to worry about getting burglared.
why is it that top notched ppl tell themselves: if i had known, i wouldnt have climbed so high, cos then i wun have to worry bout falling.
why is it that ppl at the bottom tell themselves: i'll be happy if im one of the top notched ppl, cos its all so pretiguos and ppl respect you. while now no one respects me.

we are alwaes asking for more.
when we are given wad we asked for, we will still be unhappy.
why?
becos we're never contented.
never.
and i sae never becos truly ask urself:
do u have nothing to complain about?
have u ever asked for something, but after u are given that something, u start to find urself unhappy all over again?
why is it that we're never contented?

ppl go to the temple/church weeks after weeks, years after years.
no matter wad religion, even free thinkers, they pray for happiness.
but why is it we still go back every single year being unhappy?
why?
is it only the contentment in our hearts are so hard to fill?
or is it something more?

happiness sounds so simple.
for millions of years, humans have been after happiness.
chasing after it.
endlessly. not stopping.
but have we caught up with it?
no.
we are not even near.

alot of wise quotes saes that happiness is simple.
it does not require complicated things,
but jus a simple contentment.
although they sae that, happiness is in reach.
but, are they even happy themselves?

they should give an award.
to the first person that finds true happiness.
that is content with wadeva they have.

i once heard a story:
this man, jus bought a pair of new shoes with his first salary. he wore it proudly down the streets, but a short while later, the shoe broke into half. he stood barefooted on the snowy path. and looked at the shoe. he was very upset. he cursed, he sweared, then feeling very dejected, he walked back to his home.
on the way home, he walked by many beggars. they were freezing in the snow, with an empty bowl held by their boney outstretched hands. he walked to the end of the alley and there was a beggar, who was barefooted. His feet were bluish, as though it was frozen.
the man walked home, and sat down in front of the fireplace and thought:
"why am i upset, becos my new shoe is torn? shouldnt i at least be happy that i have shoes? instead of being so dejected here? that beggar doesnt even have shoes on his feet. while that is jus another pair of my shoes."
after that, he walked out of the house and gave the beggar his old pair of shoe.
he asked the beggar:
"are u happy, sir?"
"happy bout wad my son? "
"happy bout ur life, of course."
"yes, i am."
"but why? "
"becos im contented."
"but u dun even have shoes on ur feet. and ur living conditions are so harsh."
"but at least im alive. unlike the patients in the hospital, who cant even stae alive even if they want to."
"thank you."

mus we alwaes compare to convince ourselves that we're happy?
can we not compare, and be contented on our own accord?

if i continue posting, it'll come to no end.
becos no one knows the answer to happiness.
the key to happiness is still lost.
despite many sayings on it.

i shall stop here.

i hope u ppl can find ur happiness.
soon.
in this lifetime.
true happiness.
is precious.

happiness does not rely on others.
happiness is based on oneself.

remember.
