Though there were times you did some things, you know you shouldn't do".

So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me, I'm right here in your heart.

Ever heard of this philosophy?
The more attached you are to something, the more likely you will lose it.
The more dettached you are from something, the more likely you will get it.

I thought about this the whole day, and realised.
When you are attached to something, you try hard. Sometimes, a bit too hard.
When you are dettached, you try, but not very hard, you know you can live without it. Somehow, at the end of the day you may just get the job/person/whatever it is you want.

So, in life,
TRY HARD.
but never,
try TOO hard.

There should always be a balance in everything isn't it?

Today is the 9th of August.
It's our 41st birthday for Singapore.

In 1965, on this very day.
Our country, our home,
Singapore gained its independence.

We were left to fend for ourselves after the seperation with Malaysia.
We are a small land.
Our forefathers strived throughout the years to establish our country, where we call home.

What do you remember about National day?
Is it the fireworks and the parade?
Or do you actually commemerate the sweat and blood put in by our forefathers to make all this possible?
